The 2024 Nissan Kicks is an urban crossover that aims to maintain the high level of popularity it enjoys in Quebec. It has plenty to offer in terms of equipment, it’s exceptionally safe and dynamic in the city, it handles beautifully, and it doesn’t waste gas.
Despite its compact dimensions (4,309 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width and 1,610 mm in height), it boasts a roomy cabin (2,624 liters) and can comfortably seat five passengers. With the rear seats folded down, it offers nearly 915 liters in cargo volume.
Available in five different versions (S, SV, SV Special Edition, SR and SR Premium) with an ample choice of colors, the Nissan Kicks has a starting price of $22,098 for the base model. The highest trim level has an MSRP of $27,198, while you can get the distinctive Kicks SV Special Edition for just a little over $25 thousand.
With a weight of 1,225 kg (or slightly more, depending on the equipment), the 2024 Nissan Kicks navigates the city streets, both big and small, with ease. Its short turning radius, precise steering and independent suspension make this little utility vehicle graceful and easy to drive.
In this same spirit, the Kicks features a responsible powertrain—a 1.6 L inline-four producing 122 hp at 6,300 rpm and 114 lbf·ft at 4,000 rpm. Paired with front-wheel drive and an Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT), this 16-valve DOHC engine earns good marks when it comes to fuel consumption. In city driving, it uses 7.7 liters per 100 kilometers, and on the highway, it uses 6.6 liters per 100 kilometers, for a combined average of only 7.2 liters per 100 kilometers. All versions avail of a continuously variable valve timing control system (CVTCS), which optimizes the opening and closing of the intake and exhaust valves.
The ventilated disc brakes (on all four wheels in the higher trim levels), electronic brake-force distribution, haptic feedback on the steering wheel, automatic emergency braking and 17-inch rims (except on the base model) also contribute to the vehicle’s excellent handling.
The 2024 Nissan Kicks comes standard with a number of safety technologies. These notably include front and rear airbags, dual side-mounted airbags, stability control, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot warnings, intelligent driver alertness, pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, intelligent cruise control and an intelligent around view monitor on touch screen, among others.
A wealth of luxury features and equipment ensure that the Kicks offers a lot of value for the money, especially in the SR Premium version. For starters, just consider the eight-speaker Bose Personal Plus sound system, black rims, intelligent key, remote engine start, eight-inch Nissan Connect touchscreen, heated leather-trimmed steering wheel, LED fog lights and black roof rails.
Add to that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, Bluetooth wireless audio, the rear spoiler, distinctive body emblems, the dark chrome grille, black trim on the front and rear bumpers, the stainless steel exhaust pipe and the Prima-Tex appointed seats with orange trim and topstitching.
