The 2023 Nissan Qashqai: a roomy subcompact SUV

2023 Nissan Qashqai

According to the RPM website, Nissan Canada has confirmed the sale of the 2023 Nissan Qashqai on Canadian soil. This is great news, especially considering that this model, which is smaller than the Rogue but larger than the Kicks, was the third highest-selling vehicle in Canada in 2021. Unfortunately, this won’t be the case in the United States, as US citizens aren’t as fond of smaller vehicles as Canadians are. For 2023, we’ll be able to choose from all three sport utility vehicles: the Kicks, the Qashqai and the Rogue.

The 2023 Nissan Qashqai, a well-equipped SUV

The 2023 Nissan Qashqai promises the latest in technology, including ProPILOT Assist and Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which were available on models of the previous generation. Certain features, such as Blind Spot Warning and Rear Automatic Braking, will come standard. Meanwhile, available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive will ensure maximum traction when accelerating and when navigating difficult curves. Once the Qashqai reaches cruising speed, the vehicle concentrates engine power to the front wheels, thus improving fuel economy. The proof? It only consumes 7.3 liters per 100 km on the highway!

A redesigned Nissan Qashqai, but not for Canada

The 2023 Nissan Qashqai available in Europe will feature the same improvements as the 2022 redesign, which, as the RPM website points out, has unfortunately never crossed the Atlantic. Exclusively in the overseas market, since the 2022 redesign, the Nissan Qashqai has utilized the new CMF-C platform, which lends it more imposing dimensions, including, among other things, an extra 50 liters of cargo volume for a total of 700 liters. The cabin, which bears a strong resemblance to that of the all-new Rogue available in Canada, offers numerous optional features lending it a more modern look: a 9-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, head-up display and much more.

We estimate that the vehicle’s arrival will take place in early 2023; however, the representatives here at Solution Nissan in Châteauguay will soon be able to confirm everything. Unfortunately, we don’t expect to see the 2023 Nissan Qashqai in Canada for 2024. While this is nothing more than speculation, it appears that Nissan is focusing a lot of effort on its upcoming models, as well as the hybridization of its current models.
